Why is OURS special?

Based in London, we make small batches of Scottish tablet by hand using a long-cherished recipe passed down through my family.
I grew up in Glasgow and have very fond memories of my Gran’s own tablet. When we visited there would usually be a jam jar of tablet squares in the pantry. Or, if the perfect cuts had been given to someone else, at least a jar of tablet pieces left over.
Gran’s tablet-making skills were long-forgotten unless I happened to taste other tablets and, of course, found them lacking. Last year I found her version written on the inside cover of an old Glasgow recipe book and gave it a go not just once but many, many times before it was just right. Having taken it for granted throughout childhood, many years after she died, I discovered how tricky it is to make. It's also easy to eat even when the batch isn't quite good enough.
So go on, a little bit of what you fancy never did anyone any harm - that's what we say as we tuck into yet another piece - try some tablet!
